Night Club Animations
These stills are from computer animations made to play at the Palladium night club in NYC. They were displayed on 4x4 video walls that were suspended above the dancefloor.
Font Block for Interactive Display
Font blocks were a system I designed for providing anti-aliased, variable text on 256 color displays. This particular one was for a touch screen interface with five color-themed menus.
By using this font block it was possible to provide a configurable graphical interface, where menu and title entries could be changed without the need to generate fresh graphics. The font block needed to contain all the characters and color combinations, as well as the alpha mask, so that the characters could be blended into the background. The font block also contains instructions for its generation in case new color combinations were required.
Animated Opening for an Interactive Kiosk
This animation was modeled and rendered in 3D Studio.
Animation Block for Screen Saver
Animation blocks were a single image containing a sequence of animation cells, which were programatically "blitted" onto the display. This one was used for a particle collision-style screen saver. Techniques like this were designed to reduce load times and preserve resources on older computers.
This block of "Cardura" cells was modeled and rendered in 3D Studio. This was an early version of this method that ultimately consisted of 3D morphing objects triggered by collision dymanics in the screen saver.
Low Color Resolution Input Form
Input screens from a convention-based kiosk. The data collected was archived to floppy disk and uploaded to a central server daily in a comma-delimited format.
Low specification hardware was used in this exhibit that was used to collect customer data. Only 16-color displays were available. Creative use of dithering gave the illusion of a much higher resolution screen. This and a keyboard-only access made this a challenging project.
Animation Block for Application Easter Egg
Another block of animated 3D lettering.
Modeled and rendered in 3D Studio.
The Physicians Resource Center
An interactive touchscreen kiosk. This was used a conventions to provide physicians with important pharmaceutical information as well as collecting their contact information
Company Logo for an Online Immersive Gaming Company
Drawing on iconic elements from the popular TV Show "The Prisoner", this company logo prototype for a 3D interactive game was designed to communicate a playful nature.
